Care Groups

Small Groups are a very significant part of FBC in that they provide a key opportunity to develop deep relationships within the church body, relationships that make a difference. Mutual shepherding and living out the Biblical "one-anothers" are fruits of this environment of caring and support. Spiritual gifts are exercised. Members are challenged to apply God's Word and to encourage one-another in spiritual growth.  Truth-telling and truth-listening are values that are highly desired to be developed in each small group at FBC.

Our desire is to have at least six different types of groups available to everyone according to their desire or need: Study Groups, Task or Ministry Groups, Affinity or Relationship Groups, Therapy Groups, Accountability Groups, and Seeker Groups.

Our philosophy of small groups includes each Small Group Leader casting his/her own vision for the type of small group he/she desires to lead and then recruits people to the vision of that small group.  Those groups are poised to have the most impact in Life Change in individual's lives.

We have specific training available to any member of First Baptist Church who desires to be part of this cornerstone ministry, who qualifies in character and who has the gifting to shepherd others in the body of Christ.  We are also developing a structure where each leader will have a coach to oversee, encourage and help further develop the leader's effectiveness.

While there are usually many small groups that meet on a weekly basis, most, currently, close during the summer.  Come, check them out, and get ready for Life-Change!
